What is the difference between bone conduction hearing aid and common hearing aid?

The main difference between bone conduction hearing aid and common hearing aid lies in their working principle and design principle. Ordinary hearing aids are air conduction. The way of sound transmission is from the outer ear, the outer ear canal, the tympanic membrane, the auditory ossicles, to the inner ear. But the bone conduction hearing aid transmits sound directly to the inner ear through the bone vibrator of the hearing aid, and then bypasses the conduction pathway of the middle ear of the outer ear through the skull vibration of the human brain.

Bone conduction hearing aids are suitable for specific groups of people, such as ear atresia, otitis media sequelae, otosclerosis, ear stenosis caused by trauma and other patients who are not suitable to wear air conduction hearing aids.
