What to do when my ear feels clogged by wearing hearing aid?

2020-06-16

Before wearing the hearing aid, the ear canal is open. The sound is transmitted to the eardrum through the ear canal, and part of the sound energy will be reflected.

After wearing the hearing aid, this part of the sound will not be reflected, and it will be transmitted to the auditory nerve through the eardrum membrane. It will feel stuffy or echo. In general, people with low frequency are more likely to feel stuffy. First of all, the patients should make sure that the ear impression is suitable for the comfort of ear mold and the shell of customized machine. If the patient is wearing hearing aids and feels that the ears are stuffy, they should find a fitting examiner to solve the problem from the hardware and software aspects at the first time, especially for the users with two ears. Do not take only one hearing aid as a response. Or choose a hearing aid that can be opened for fitting, which can solve the problem of stuffy ears.
